Southwind at the Western Folklife Center - And a Walking Tour

  • Western Folklife Center Pioneer Saloon 501 Railroad Street Elko, NV, 89801 United States (map)

Popular local band Southwind continues its Third Wednesday concerts in the historic Pioneer Saloon from 6pm-8pm. Come listen (and there's room to dance!) to toe-tapping Celtic, Folk and Americana tunes while enjoying a refreshing beverage from the Bar.

Sponsored by the Western Folklife Center, this program has been funded, in part, by the Nevada Arts Council, a state agency, and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.

Add even more fun to your evening before the concert with a free docent-led walking tour of our downtown Elko storefront exhibition, Portraits of the Gathering, at 5:30pm. Meet in front of the Western Folklife Center, then view a fraction of the many portraits available for viewing, enjoy the portraits and poetry - and use your mobile device to access a QR code to listen to the poem, performed by the artist, and learn more about each artist.

Follow Southwind—Carolyn Steninger, Susan Lawrence and Ken Harriman—on Facebook.
