Archiving the West

The Western Folklife Center Archives is a rich resource of information about the occupations, lifeways, and traditions of the American West.
The collection includes materials from original fieldwork conducted by the Western Folklife Center, as well as photographs, audio and video recordings, original artwork, and much more. At present, the Archives is undergoing a digitization process, designed to preserve older media formats and make materials more accessible for education and research, including online access. The Archives gratefully welcomes donations of artists’ publications and recordings, especially self-published or limited-edition materials.
