Ticketed Shows v. Deluxe Passes and Day Passes
All You Need To Know About Ticketed Shows,
Three-Day Deluxe Passes and
Single Day Passes
What is the difference between "ticketed" and "non-ticketed" events? There are two kinds of shows and events at the Gathering:
- Ticketed shows cost more because they are the hottest performances at the Gathering and showcase a combination of western bands, singer-songwriters and cowboy poets that you won't see together during the day with your Pass. Some artists perform only on ticketed shows. Purchase of a pass is not required to attend a ticketed show; your show ticket is your pass. See the drop-down listing under Programs in our banner.
- Non-ticketed shows and events take place during the day Thursday through Saturday only, running concurrently on several different stages during the day. These require the purchase of a 3-day Deluxe Pass ($60, or $75 if purchased after December 19, 2015) or a Single Day Pass ($25). The 3-day Deluxe Pass also comes with a program book and a commemorative pin. Children under 12 are admitted free to non-ticketed daytime events. Deluxe and Day Passes are not included in membership benefits.
- There will be approximately 90 non-ticketed daytime shows and events during these three main days of the Gathering, on seven stages in four locations in Elko. Your Pass is your ticket to these shows and events and will also get you into our Keynote Address, intimate poetry recitations, western films, open mic sessions of music and poetry, lively discussions about the rural West and its future, and more. All seating is on a first-come, first-seated basis; for safety and comfort, each person attending a show or event will have a chair, with no extra chairs being provided at any time.
Tickets to the Gathering - including Day and/or Deluxe Passes - go on sale to Western Folklife Center members at 9:00 am Pacific Time the day after Labor Day, and to non-members one month later. Remember, if you are a part of our Stakeholder program, you will also need to be a member to take part in early ticket sales. The general public begin purchasing tickets one month later, in October.
To become a Western Folklife Center member, click here, or call the membership desk at 888-880-5885 ext. 222. Members must be in good standing the week prior to opening day of ticket sales, in order to purchase tickets and day/deluxe passes online. You may, of course, renew or purchase a membership by telephone while ordering your tickets and passes. Please note, your membership benefits do not include a Day or Deluxe pass for the Gathering.
