My Plumas County family is surrounded in smoke these days. So many forest fires - but I don't see any grazing to combat the low weeds and bushes!

One of the benefits of getting up early this time of year is a chance to see all the wildlife. This doe and new fawn ran along my jeep going up Alta Creek Canyon in the Pine Forest Mountains.

During the two months in the spring that I take care of the leppy lambs, these are the only photographs I have time for because I'm feeding them when the best light of the day takes place. This little lamb makes it all worthwhile.
