4 Burros on the Sheldon Antelope Refuge

4 burros on sheldon.jpg
The Sheldon Antelope Refuge in Northwest Nevada has some of the most amazing landscapes, with long mesas and deep, narrow canyons. There are a few old homesteads built from the beautiful pink rock that was locally quarried - several opal mines - lots of proposed wilderness study areas - but not many antelope these days. There are burros, and many horses running wild. The antelope seem to have moved out of the refuge area and are now enjoying the alfalfa fields of the neighboring ranches.
