As Steve Wines said, "Integrity is when you can shake a man's hand and in two years he will remember that day and keep his promise!" That explains Ruby Valley as a whole. All of my work for the Voices of Youth program has been inspired by the ranching community of Ruby Valley. When I asked if Ruby Valley was a close community, the answer was always "YES." Every resident helps every other resident. In every family, young or old, they have had life-changing experiences in Ruby Valley whether they were born and raised there or married into the ranching life. Most people didn't just marry an individual but joined a whole new community and extended family. In this setting, ranch kids work full days and know the true meaning of responsibility.

I grew up in Ruby Valley and have tried to capture the activities, structures, and people that make this community great. Through many rolls of film, hours of tape, and many days in the field we all are taking home new experiences.
