Hear your Favorite Cowboy Poems and Songs…

What is this?

We hope you will enjoy exploring this area as it evolves and grows. Our goal is to create a “digital jukebox” where visitors to our website – and visitors to our gallery in Elko— can interact and listen to some great songs and poems ranging from the classics to the contemporary.

Where can I get these Poems and Songs?

The material presented on the “jukebox” is largely drawn from sources in the Western Folklife Center archives and gift shop. These include fieldwork and event recordings, as well as anthologies and commercial recordings by the poets and musicians themselves. Unfortunately, some of these are out of print and unavailable.

A listing of books and recordings related to the work presented accompanies each selection. We encourage you, our visitors, to support the creative spirit of tradition— and the Western Folklife Center— by purchasing books and recordings that can let artists know they are appreciated.
