During the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering and throughout the year, more than 400 volunteers support the Western Folklife Center’s activities. Volunteers are a critical complement to our staff and without them we literally could not succeed. During the Gathering, the volunteer opportunities are numerous, ranging from logging (taking notes) at performances, running a guest services desk, assisting at workshops, bartending, and much, much more.
Throughout the year, volunteers help in four main categories of support: special events, office/administration, exhibit docents, and exhibit production. As a volunteer you are contributing directly to the Western Folklife Center's mission to document and preserve the cultural traditions of the American West. We hope you'll be a part of our organization by becoming a volunteer!
