Stop by and view the Student Art Show in our G Three Bar Theater! Elko County students have once again prepared a fantastic gallery of their artwork for our National Cowboy Poetry Gathering guests and audiences.

Art by Kelly Schmidt, Student at Elko County Grammar School #2 (6th grade)The Western Folklife Center hosted a reception on a Thursday afternoon in March for Elko County student artists.  Parents, friends, teachers and the interested public were invited to attend and celebrate the wonderful works presented by these talented students. The reception was free and refreshments were served.

Special thanks from the Western Folklife Center to the following organizations and people for generously providing funds for National Cowboy Poetry Gathering youth programs such as the Student Art Show. Previous sponsors have included Barrick Gold Strike Mines, Inc., the Bretzlaff Foundation, Newmont Mining, the Reno Rodeo Charitable Foundation, Nevada Arts Council, Nevada Department of Cultural Affairs, National Endowment for the Arts, and Wrangler, as well as many other businesses and organizations, along with many generous individual donors who annually contribute to the Western Folklife Center’s Stakeholder Program for Youth Education.
