When and How to Purchase Tickets
Tickets will go sale to Western Folklife Center Members (see below) the day after Labor Day for the 33rd National Cowboy Poetry Gathering, January 30-February 4, 2017. We'll post a big blue button for purchasing tickets online. Once sales begin, if a show is sold out, it will not be listed with those available for purchase.
Tickets go on sale to the general public one month later. Tickets can be purchased online, by telephone, or by mail. Mail-in forms are available in the Gathering Brochure, which is in the mail to Members by mid-August and available to the public by request, either verbal or written - or, pick one up in our Gift Shop at 501 Railroad Street beginning mid-August.
More information about Ticket Purchasing
Ordering by Telephone
Of course, you may also use the information in our online list of special ticketed performances and workshops —be sure to check for Sold Out items— then call us to order at 888-880-5885 (toll free) or 775-738-7508 (in Elko or outside the U.S.). The Ticket Office will be open Tuesday - Friday, from 9:00am to 5:00pm Pacific time.
To take advantage of certain discount offers for the Gathering that may be offered, orders will need to be made by telephone. All orders placed online or over the telephone will receive an immediate confirmation number with verification of seating assignments, if applicable.
Ordering by Mail
There is an order form in the brochure that can be mailed to the Western Folklife Center. Mail-in orders are discouraged because the additional processing time required for mail orders may result in some shows being unavailable before the order is finalized. Click here for examples of special offers that may be available.
Members purchase tickets one month earlier than the general public! Become a member and purchase tickets early: some shows and workshops sell out early! Remember, if you are a part of our Stakeholder program, you will also need to be a Western Folklife Center Member to take part in early ticket sales.
The ticketing button is activated the week prior to ticket sales. Members begin purchasing tickets for the Gathering beginning at 9:00 am Pacific time the day after Labor Day, using special log in information that will be provided to them by the Western Folklife Center. Members can sign in and set up billing information prior to purchasing  to make the process a bit quicker, or wait until the day and put the information in prior to beginning to purchase tickets.
How Many Tickets Members May Purchase
Membership level benefits may be reviewed here. Members, please check your membership renewal date - if you want to renew, upgrade or purchase a membership, please do so prior to the Friday prior to opening day of ticket sales in order to have your information processed in time. If you are telephoning your order in, you can renew or purchase a new membership at the time of purchasing tickets.
