Roughly 75 poets and musicians converge in Elko every January from all over the western United States and Canada, as well as international artists from such countries as Mongolia, Brazil and France. Each artist receives a well-earned honorarium, as well as travel, lodging and meal expenses. The average cost of bringing an artist to the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering is $3,000. Expenses of bringing international artists are even higher—donate to our special fundraising effort and help us bring artists from Baja California Sur, Mexico, to the 2015 Gathering.
With a $3,000 contribution, you can sponsor the participation of a poet or musician at the Gathering. Your support will be acknowledged in the Gathering Program Book and you’ll be recognized at a breakfast honoring our stakeholders, sponsors and donors during the Gathering.
The Western Folklife Center is a non-profit 501c(3) organization. All donations go to support the mission of the Western Folklife Center. Your contribution may be tax deductible. Please consult your tax advisor for more information.
