hands/ON! at the Nevada Museum of Art

A 2009 Deep West VideoThe Western Folklife Center collaborated with the Nevada Museum of Art on Saturday, January 14, 2012 for a  hands ON!/Cowboy Up program. From 10:00 am until 4:00 pm, little buckaroos could watch cowboy trick roping and sing western songs with Tumbleweed Tex Weir, create western landscapes and design their own cattle brands in hands-on workshops, watch special Deep West Videos with ranchers and filmmakers Linda Dufurrena and Carolyn Dufurrena, and listen to western poetry and stories. 10:30 & 11 am Tales of the West: Storytelling in the Gallery
10:00-11:30 am Film: Anthem: The Prologue to Grass (5:03 looped)
12 & 1 pm Trick Roping and Western Songs with Tumbleweed Tex Weir
2 pm Kick Start Art: Guided tour of selected western themed artwork from the collection
2:30 & 3 pm Tales of the West: Storytelling in the Gallery
2:30-3:15 pm Western Folklife Center presents Rural Western Poetry & Deep West Videos with ranchers and videographers, Carolyn and Linda Dufurrena
