Second Saturdays ~ July 13, 2013

Visit the Western Folklife Center Gift Shop during the summer Second Saturdays in downtown Elko! Brought to you by the Elko Downtown Business Association, the first "Walk" is a Margarita Walk on June 8!  All "Walks" begin at 4:00 pm at the Commercial Hotel and run until 7:00 pm. July 13, August 10, September 14 and October 12 are Wine Walks. Contact the Western Folklife Center, 775.738-7508, extension 234 for more information.

Western Folklife Center presents Fiddlers' Pilgrimage: The Weiser Legacy, a tribute to the National Oldtime Fiddlers Contest and Festival. Tribute a one-hour radio documentary airing on Boise Public Radio (KBSU-FM) May 18 at 7:00pm and on KBSX-FM on May 19 at 8:00pm, as well as a concert event at Boise State University Special Events Center, 1800 West University Drive, on May 10.  Read more about the tribute and events, and how to purchase concert tickets.

During the Elko Art Walk, the Western Folklife Center Gift Shop will feature Nevada authors Sally Whipple Mosher Mooney and Dave Secrist, as well as demos by northeast Nevada artists: jeweler Kristi Lyn Glass, smoke artist Lynn Kistler, photographer Susan Summer Elliott, and watercolorist Wendy Ehrmann. Be sure to stop by!
